Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' up after down start: Madhur Bhandarkar’s foray into a different stream has been met with mixed response from the critics and viewers alike. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji took a dull start at box office on Friday but picked up slightly in the evening.
The movie, starring a host of actors including Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shazahn Padamsee, Shruti Haasan and Shraddha Das, saw a 40 percent response at most urban centres on Friday morning. The collections went up slightly in the evening and are expected to rise, or at least remain steady, throughout the weekend.
The fact that Ajay Devgan’s films have been doing well lately might give heart to the producers and distributors who are hopeful that the collections will rise considerably in the coming days.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan’s Dhobi Ghat rounded off its first week with a collection of Rs. 13 crore net. The film is more of an arthouse cinema and perhaps that’s why it fared shockingly low at box office compared with Aamir’s previous blockbusters.
Meanwhile, the Deol storm is continuing unabated through North India as their film Yamla Pagla Deewana is on the cusp of touching the Rs. 50 crore mark after its two weeks at theatres.
